Vectors and Scalars JEE Chapterwise Analysis, Weightage and Overview

Vectors add a new dimension to the kit of the students. This chapter introduced basic formulas and equations. While questions directly do not appear from the chapter as only 3 questions have been asked in the past 10 years. Understand the intuition behind the simple equations and it will be useful in all the upcoming chapters. A simple understanding of various graphs is useful as well. .

Two forces and  act on a single point. The angle between and  is nearly[AMU 1995]

Q.

If two vectors  and  are parallel to each other then value of l be

Q.

A particle moves with a velocity under the influence of a constant force The instantaneous power applied to the particle is    [CBSE PMT 2000]

Q.

The angle between the two vectors  and  will be          [Pb. CET 2001]

Q. If dot and cross product are equal then the angle is 45 degree.?

Yes

Q. If cos 1 is also 0 and both vectors are parallel, so they have an angle of 0 between them. Am i right??

yes the angle between them is 0 degree , both are same vectors

Q. sum of of two unit vector never be a unit vector??

sum of unit vectors can be a unit vector, if the angle between the vectors is 120 degree, then resultant will also be unit vector.

Q. Why resultant R-max and R-min?

two forces can act in same direction or in opposite direction therefore range of force will be between these two will depends

Q. why displacement is not greater than distance??

displacement is by definition shortest distance between two points, therefore displacement < = distance
