Now the High Court has asked the CBSE to file its reply within a week’s time.

Additionally the JEE results are in the thick of controversy because of the normalization of 12th class marks which has again affected the admission procedure to IITs. The JEE Main list of students on the merit basis for admission to NIT and other engineering colleges has left numerous students in the lurch. Many have cleared with high All India Rank in the JEE Advance got stuck due to low marks in 12th class board normalization of marks.

On Wednesday, 17thJuly the HRD Minister, MM Pallam Raju called on the IIT Delhi Director, to discuss the current scenario and confusion that has ensued after introduction of the 20 percentile formula for IIT aspirants. Currently there are over 80 students that do not qualify for admission to the IIT even after clearing the IIT-JEE Advanced examination as they didn’t qualify to be within the 20 percentile qualifying marks of the state boards.

Although there is no mention of change in the 2014 12th class board marks criteria by the HRD Minister, the number of complaints against it is high. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has also urged the Center to ensure that the students from AP are not at a disadvantage due to the change in policies in the coming session. He has given his own view point in a written letter to the Union HRD Minister.
