Get ready for joint JEE Mains and JEE Advanced examination in 2015
The human resource department has declared to take one common JEE main and JEE advanced examination. The program will be activated from 2015. The administrated has decided that the all national engineering colleges will follow the common counseling program for the admission of students in 2014. The Indian institute of technology (IIT) and National institute of technology are also not an exception. They will also follow the same criteria for the student admission via common entrance exams 2015.
Since JEE mains is organized for engineering course admissions in NIT, CFIT, SFTI. The purpose of JEE advanced is to admit students in IIT and ISM Dhanbad. Generally 1,50000 students become eligible to qualify in JEE advanced. Mr. Ashok Thakur, secretary of higher education stated that the administration has declared to join the JEE main and JEE advanced from 2015.
Till now JEE examination has been conducted into two phases. However due to severe protest of students, guardians and colleges, the government has taken the decision to combine the both exam phases in common exam. However, for 2014, the schedule is to conduct the common counseling said by Mr. Thakur. The government is very enthusiastic on JEE counseling. Last year, the administration had attempted but IIT Delhi was obstinate. And now it has been decided that IIT counseling will be conducted first, second NIT and then other popular engineering colleges.
Approximate 9,600 students took admission in IIT colleges and ISM Dhanbad for engineering courses and over 25 thousand students took admission in the other reputed institutes. Due to the isolate counseling, the target of central exam couldn’t be achieved. The main aim is to include the students in the single merit list. The NIT colleges also possess good students and with the help of combined counseling, the troubles for students as well as count of empty seats can be decreased.
The joint admission offers the option of institutes so the students will feel easier. Therefore, it will prove to be a significant initiative to reduce the empty seats. According to a student’s perception, choosing a good institute with quality courses is vital. Earlier the counseling was conducted in two to three stages but it couldn’t improve the situation said by H.C. Gupta, an IIT Delhi lecturer. He said that generally the students appear in an exam and then after decide to move abroad or change the course. So in order to reduce the vacant seats count, the decision of joint counseling is considered best and this will be applied from next year.
