The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra
“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra” this famous quote strikes a chord, that just a little effort can make a big difference. It appeals to your senses and makes you feel happy that you are not very far away from being extraordinary or special.
What makes one ordinary or who is ordinary? Those who go through the motions the same way on a daily basis can be said as ordinary. They have no great motivation behind them to do something different or try something new. They do not look for fresh ideas and repeat their actions again and again. For example if you just approach your syllabus in the same boring manner you will not achieve anything. You will not have and edge over others.
Who else is extraordinary? Let’s brain storm! An IIT ian scoring great grades is extraordinary. A student making the effort to sit for longer hours and studying is extraordinary. Getting into the best college because of good merit is extraordinary.
This being the definition of being ordinary then what is extraordinary? To be extraordinary means to do something beyond boundaries, beyond the usual. It could be to set a new trend or add fresh ideas to ones educational goals or challenge ones own growth afresh.
So what differentiates an ordinary person from being extraordinary? It is just that little extra. A simple twist in ones attitude or outlook towards ones studies can make all the difference. A shift in the way you act and study can change things. For example if you and your friend are studying together for your exams and you sit at your desk for few hours more than him and get those super grades then you prove to be extraordinary while your friend might just be going through the motions.
Here are some great tips on how to shift from ordinary to extraordinary:
Try something new each time: You must develop this attribute of going for fresh ideas. This will bring excitement and add new dimensions to your life. Bring fresh ideas on how you can improve your grades and score well. This will give you that extra edge over others. Not everybody is born with a silver spoon in his mouth but with ones own effort one can definitely shine. For those who make extra effort with their education, the sky is the limit.
Don’t shun hard work: Now this might sound a little boring but it is important to know that hard work pays off. Hard work is what makes you a winner and gets you the best college so don’t try to avoid it. If you do so you will be the looser in the end. In this competitive world hard work is the pass to success and education is the key to achieving high limits.
Don’t fear change: Society is constantly changing and so is the education pattern. For example initially JEE had interviews as first round but now that has been scraped and the exam takes place upfront. So adapt to the new educational pattern by keeping your self well informed.
Be competitive: In this competitive world it is important to compete with the best. Do not undermine you abilities and take the plunge. Go right ahead and challenge your self to be on top of your educational goal. Out of the 14 lakh students who have given the IIT JEE exam in 2014 you must aim to be one of them in the successive year to come. If you just sit back and do nothing you cannot be called extraordinary.
It is all up to you how you shape yourself and your career. You have to decide whether you want to just be one ordinary human being or you want to touch high limits in the field of education by being extraordinary. The choice is yours!
