Question

Find the point of intersection of the line 2x + 3y = 18 and the circle x2 +y2 = 25.

Solution

Correct option is

y = 4 or y = 56/13

We have

                2x + 3y = 18              …(i)

and          x2 + y2 = 25                …(ii)

From (i)

Substituting in (ii), then

From (i), y = 4 or y = 56/13
