Question

Five coins whose faces are marked 2, 3 are thrown. The probability of obtaining a total of 12 is:

Solution

Correct option is

5/16

The only way sum can be 12 is when we get 3 on two thrown and 2 on three throw, i.e. 2 2 2 3 3 and its permutations

Let occurrence  of 2 be success and 3 be failure

To get  2 2 2 3 3 , we want 3 success and 2 failures
